Panic Disorder

People experience recurrent and unexpected panic attacks. Panic attacks are periods of intense and overwhelming fear or anxiety which lead to persistent concern about future panic attacks and/or changes in behaviour to avoid having panic attacks.

Here are some symptoms of panic attack (exclusive medical illness):

  • Pounding heart
  • Sweating
  • Trembling/ shaking
  • Shortness of breath
  • Feelings of choking
  • Chest pain/ discomfort
  • Nausea
  • Feeling dizzy
  • Chills or heat sensation
  • Numbness or tingling sensations
  • Fear of “going crazy” or “losing control”
  • Fear of dying
